New jewelry designs by Ronna Lugosch
Ronna wanted to counterbalance the vertical structure of her last design, the Peapod Lighthouse, and to create a piece that is shamelessly pretty and elegant. This Tri-pod necklace has a peridot gemstone but Ronna also makes it with a pink purple amethyst.
Peapod Jewelry Sprouts a Museum
When Peapod Jewelry of Round Pond opened for the season on May 1st there were more than creations by jewelry artist Ronna Lugosch. This year a section of the gallery has been set aside for a peapod museum; an outgrowth of the generosity of Ronna’s customers.
When asked why this doesn’t happen in every business, Ronna admits that there’s something about peapods that strikes a cord with people and makes them want to connect. “Next thing I knew I was receiving peapod themed gifts. The great thing is that they are fun and tasteful. I had to put them on display.”
The items range from a gourd painted like a peapod to a mirror compact with a cover decorated with a peapod dress. Each piece is identified with the contributor’s name. Contributors to the museum are: Judy Hengerer, Thel and Barbara McCree, Julie Woodman, Roz Welsh, Nicola Lugosch, Sharon Abair, Tamar Burchill, Suanne Williams Lindgren & Betsy McFarland.
Ronna expects the museum will grow over time. “We may have to find another building for the jewelry,” she says with a wink.
